Proposed speech for NNC 010108

Developing a positive attitude

When the idea of standing in front of everybody here today to say something came to my mind, I was at work in the hot sun of Ipaja. You can ask me what

I do much later, probably after I step down from here.

There is this particular sentence in the scripture that I love so much and will love to share with everyone present here today, most of us must have heard or read it before.” As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he” simple but loaded with the element of positive thinking. I picked this because of why we are here today, the New Nigerian Club. There as been a lot of controversies since the pre-launch of the NNC, the major rift being doubt and unbelief, two of the greatest enemies of man. This enemies destroys the possibility of accurate thinking, undermines enthusiasm, kill self reliance and all this is needed for a rebirth, and finally it drives opportunities away from your reach.

The unbelief of anything that is branded Nigeria by Nigerians is a mentality that as eaten deep into the Nigerian system and this as to be reversed by no other person, persons, organization or group than you and I present here today. I am glad I am a changed Nigerian that as always believed in Nigeria even in my lust world, and now more than ever, I strongly believe in anything that is Nigerian, and especially the ones with the signature of Deolu Akinyemi on it. The reason for this is simple, he is continuously selling himself to me and as been able to do that simply because he’s got only one attitude and that is the positive attitude. More of the reason I am here today.

You can also sell yourself successfully; you can become a success in everything you do just by putting on a positive attitude, what you are selling is not the deals of NNC or the MLM, the product is you. You have to eat, drink, and even where a positive attitude towards everything in other to become a success. You have to widen your outlook, learn to be a positive thinker, dwell only on the positive, and erase the negative, start looking at everything around you positively. Try this and you will be amazed not only at benefits that comes with being positive, but also at the improvement you can make to such cause, and the raw power that positive thinking will unleash within you.

The New Nigeria Club, just like the father of Galileo “who widened his son’s outlook just by gently turning the spyglass around so that Galileo can look through from the right side, this gave Galileo the right vision and how fortunate he did”. Galileo grew up always looking at the world from the right end of the spyglass; he improved the primitive telescope and with it, discovered the moons of Jupiter and craters of Mars. In the same vein, the NNC is here to correct the myopic word view of Nigerians, and the cynical stance of the rest of the world. To position them on the right end of the scope, creating in us all a new and positive attitude towards Nigeria and engineering a re-birth of the new Nigeria we desire.

Turn yourself around, learn to see things from the right perspective, if you can’t identify it, don’t just sit down and believe it’s no good, ASK, and you will be surprised that it’s just an inch away. Learn to listen, think positive, think big and work on making the good idea even better. Use these improvements to phase out the negative, think out the better. The NNC is a humble idea that needs you and me to be positively supportive so that it can blossom into a better and positive dynamite. Believe me, there is nothing good or bad, the mind determines whether something is good or bad, therefore you can always redesign your mind for just the good and the positive. Young or old, become a positive whirlwind today, and you will be glad you did. Doubt, unbelief, indecision and procrastination are all your enemies, ignore them, and believe in a new positive and better Naija. If you are not a member of the NNC yet, join NNC today if not for anything, join because me I need down lines oo! I believe, Do you?

Achieving Success with ease.

I am having a lovely day, when I feel I should share a world to all of us as we all journey to find success im whatever is it that we do. Enjoy!!

Some people are very successful on their own terms. They don't rush to the next appointment, rush to get off the phone or rush to execute a job. They are confident they will achieve their goals, while enjoying their work and having full personal lives.

Many of us believe that we have to work hard from before sun up to after sun down to accomplish anything. This is not living, it's existing and doing it too long will strip you of your joy for life and passion for your work. There are ways of living and thinking that promote ease and support you. Success with ease is taking a stand for the way you work, committing to having your work contribute to you as much as it contributes to others. Success with ease is enjoying your work, the process and the results while enjoying yourself and the other aspects of your life. Adopt some of these ideas to add more ease to your work and the rest of your life:

Expect Ease

Release old ideas that pain and suffering are necessary to achieve success. Reprogram your thinking throughout the day with these statements "Success comes to me with ease." "I move through my life with ease."

De-Clutter Your Life

Do you have too much stuff in too many places? If so, get rid of it. It takes up precious space, causes confusion and sucks the energy out of you. Clean your wardrobe, your desk drawers and every other place that is in disarray.

Plan Breaks in Advance

Sometimes we think that the sky will fall if we take a vacation, go away for a long weekend or even take an afternoon off. If you plan for time away, you will easily be able to get away, without having to reschedule, cancel, juggle, delegate and rush to get things done. Take a stand for yourself and give yourself needed breaks.

Don't Worry

We spend too much time worrying about the future and the past. Yesterday is a memory, tomorrow is a mystery, today is truly a gift. That is why they call it "the present." Put your attention and thinking on what you can change. Release worrisome thoughts, they do you no service and can create mental and emotional havoc that makes no contribution to your life.

Create Support

We can all use more support. Support comes in many forms. Support can be a walk with a friend, a cup of tea in the afternoon with a colleague, watch (or arguing about) your favourite football team or sharing a Joke with a Friend. Support is hiring an assistant, delegating some of your work, etc. Where can you use more support? Go get it!
You can be more successful and have more ease by putting your attention on these ease-enhancing ideas. Watch the ease begin to flow in your life and then you can have more time to reply your mails!!!

enjoy life!!

On a light note!

Here's a joke i read and i felt i should share it with you all. Here...

A man bought a donkey from a preacher. The preacher told the man that this donkey had been trained in a very unique way (being the donkey of a preacher). The only way to make the donkey go, is to say, "Hallelujah!" The only way to make the donkey stop, is to say, "Amen!" The man was pleased with his purchase and immediately got on the animal to try out the preacher's instructions. "Hallelujah!" shouted the man. The donkey began to trot. "Amen!" shouted the man. The donkey stopped immediately. "This is great!" said the man. With a "Hallelujah" he rode off, very proud of his new purchase.

The man traveled for a long time through the mountains. As he headed towards a cliff, he tried to remember the word to make the donkey stop. "Stop," said the man. "Halt!" he cried. The donkey just kept going. "Oh, no..." "Bible...Church!... Please! Stop!!" shouted the man. The donkey just began to trot faster. He was getting closer and closer to the edge of the cliff. Finally, in desperation, the man said a prayer... "Please, dear Lord. Please make this donkey stop before I go off the end of this mountain, AMEN." The donkey came to an abrupt stop just one step from the edge of the cliff. Hallelujah!" the man shouted.......

Have a great week guys full of joy and fulfillment. Ciao!

.:: The Rose That Grew From Concrete ::.

Did you hear about the rose that grew from a crack in the concrete? Proving nature's law is wrong it learned to walk with out having feet.
Funny it seems, but by keeping it's dreams, it learned to breathe fresh air. Long live
The rose that grew from concrete when no one else ever cared.

Envisioned Nigeria!

Visionary Leaders
One of the clearly distinguishing qualities that sets nations appart, is the quality of it’s leaders। The people who shape it’s future and steer it towards the dream. Sometimes, these leaders have the priviledge of elected office, sometimes however, they occupy leadership positions by the fact that they have influence. Many atimes positional leaders occupy the front position, and stretch into the future without followers ending up with a mere stroll, while the leaders of thought and the philosophies that the people buy into, leave their homes with the intention of a mere stroll and movements are begotten. The visionary leaders of Nigeria are emerging, they are men and women, born in the secrecy of a village manger, born without fanfare, without the royal army blood nor the geneology of relationships with the powers that be. They are artistic teachers who with their quotes and words paint the pictures of the future’s in our minds with ink that cannot be erased. Our visionary leaders are in the cocoon, waiting patiently for their wings to develop. Watch the film 300, read the story of Gideon in the Bible. The medicine does not need to be oversized to do it’s work. Those that bear the fulcrum on which the future of our nation hinges are already with us, it’s an army of few, and you are one of them. 70% of our population are under 30. Imagine what can happen if we take charge of this generation!!

Workforce
The chinese language is fast becoming a language of the future, with the impending economic takeover by the chinese economy। One of the key elements that pushes China ahead, is it’s workforce. With a seemingly disadvantageous population of over a billion, China has positioned itself as the worlds manufacturing center. The cheapest prices of whatever you want can be found in China. That shirt that costs you N15,000 was probably made in China, and left china at N300 without the logo. Nigeria is the most populous black nation on the planet. With a little tweak in our policies, we can position ourselves to take the maximum advantage of our numbers.

The Nigerian Spirit
In any country on earth, it’s easy to know a Nigerian appart। We are cocky confident, passionate, diehard optimists and sharp. You know why stories of suicide are never rampant in our nation? It’s because the broke gate man, believes that as long as there is life, there is hope. His motto is, “no Condition is permanent”. He believes strongly that if he ends up a looser today, he starts on a fresh page tomorrow. I marveled at the laissez-faire attitude of the average South African, here is a guy with a National Passport that is Visa free to 95 of the choice countries in the world, languishing with a degree and sitting at home. Contrast that with Nigerians I have met, who practically made their way by road (car, camel and feet) from Nigeria to Morocco through the derserts of Libya just to get over to Spain in other to create a new masterplan that will take him to the United Kingdom. Our will to survive is strong! If we put this spirit behind of emergence of our New Nigeria, we are unstoppable.

Human Capital
Guess it’s hard to be judge in my own court, however a survey of any of these fields, Medicine, Engineering, Technology, Economics, e.t.c, will reveal that some of the best brains in the world are Nigerian. An informed professor I was opportuned to listen to, categorically said that in any one of these fields if a meeting of the top 10 would be called, there’ll be Nigerians amongst them. That if the No 1 Citizen in America had an emergency operation today, a Nigerian will be on that operating table. I am yet to hear from any of my friends and classmates who went for any part of their education outside our shores who is not top 1-5% in his class. As far as I’m concerned, we were blessed not only with numbers, but with intellect. When we pass through the international checkpoints and say we have nothing to declare, we lie. There is sufficient between our ears to declare. Yahoo yahoo is an abuse of intelligence, it’s a perversion of business acumen. We only need to channel and harness this latent energy for the greater good of our nation.

Social Culture
One of the other key things we are blessed with that distinguishes us from other nations is our networking. We sincerely care about getting in touch, socializing with family and friends and actually relating with our neighbours. There is a lot we can achieve via the power of synergy, and we have a culture that draws us together, making us more powerful.Natural Resources
I understand that a CIA report has it, that the most precious natural resource that Nigeria has is surface table water. Not oil, not gold, toumaline or tantalite. Surface water. There is still much oil in the land neither do we have a scarcity of arable land. We are also still discovering new precious metals and gemstones. If we tap 1/4 of our resources, and channel the funds aright we can become a wonder to the cities around us.
The Nigeria of our dream will not arrive without effort, neither will it emerge by solo effort, but as we align and create the picture of what we would have it be we’ll get there. Slowly but surely, the snail also made it into Noah’s ark
Three hearty cheers to a Nigeria that celebrates 1yr+ of uninterrupted power supply, a Nigeria without potholes, a Nigeria with 8 lane highways, a Nigeria with banks that fund the real sector, a Nigeria where the common man can get bank credit, a Nigeria where things work, a Nigeria whose passport and residency is sought after, a Nigeria that it’s citizens are proud of associating with. NOt a Nigeria that celebrates her 47th Birthday on bad roads, no power to watch the parades by the legions of army at the eagles square.. Let’s bring back the glory!

Getting Everything You Want in Life

An Idea! Here it is, an idea, the easy way out of that tight corner, It is possible for you to have alot and still not be uptight. You can have so much money and still not possess that ability to live freely and comfortably. You might have discovered the power to get rich, the ability to make create wealth but still not be what you want to be or ought to be...

The Question?
There are alot of times we do alot of things and we expect so much from such exploits, and yet we get to so little from it, not because we don't know how to do it, but because our approach still lacks that special ingredient and we don't seem to know what it is. Sometimes we wonder, what is that special ingredient, what gives "A" so much success and me so little? I work harder than he does, why can't i better? What is the secret of His exploit?..It is good to ask this questions, but believe me, the answer is not far-fetched. Ask yourself, what am doing now, how does it benefit others...???

The answer!
The steps are simple and the principle is even...the solutions is doing that which is channeled towards benefitting others, this doesn't remove the principle of paying yourself first....You should be sure it gives you what you desire, but in other for it to be rewarding, enjoyable and deeply satisfying. Whatever you do should always help people get what they want because "You will only have everything you want in life, if you will only help enough other people get what they want"

Seeking Knowledge The key to Success!

Ask and it shall be given unto you
Seek and yee shall find
Knock and it shall be open unto you

"say unto wisdom thou art my sister
and unto knwoledge, thou art my kinsmen

I am sorry i have not posted anything on this blog for a while now, and that is why i have decided to drop a line or two hoping someone out there will pick up something from it.

I have just discovered something interesting, and i believe sharing it with everyone that visit' this page will make me happy. It might be something you know or you do already, or possibly the first time you are hearing it, but it is something that really works and i will be glad if to see many see the light of it.

Do you know that America has produced the largest number of billionaires in the world? and the toll up till today is as listed below

Rank
Worlds Richest
Nation/Region Number of billionaires Notes
1 United States 371
2 Germany 56
3 Russia 47
4 Turkey 39
5 India 36
6 United Kingdom 34
7 Australia 30
8 Japan 27
9 Canada 22
10 Brazil 18

Do you know what all this American Billionaires have in common? i guess you don't. apart from the fact that they are all Billionaires, they all read books...I mean motivational Books...not novels. They read books, jornals, books written to change lives, and that is the major secret behind there huge success.

Very few genuises are billionaires, only 1 out of every 100 are and the remaining 99 are people who out of the idea of this few genuis created wealth from combining there energy with existing ideas, works, plans, and wisdom written with inks on paper by this great men dead and alive, who have studied the world, with will power and are now giving it to all to benefit from their knowledge.

Even the scriptures advises us to seek knowledge so that we can be wise, without it, nothing works. Solomon became the wisest man ever because he seeked God's wisdom, and with this he became wealthy. You too can be great only if you seek knowledge, it does come in different forms but the most readily available means is books, listen and learn, ask questions and develop that ability to perfect.

More Antidotes for the Cure of Poverty!

More Antidotes:

The cure for poverty is truly good information, Good news, positive and impacting/life-changing information, but for a complete overhauling and overwhelming cure of poverty, there is the need for a right mind and a positive attitude required on ones side in order to have a life changing experience when you get the good information. You need a ready mind that is geared towards the positive to feel the full effect of the good information, you need to be designed for success and not just success but great success, and you have to possess a positive heart in order to identify which is good information. Even if you are poor in the physical realm, you need to enrich the real you, the inner man for you to be able to tap into the blessings of God, you need to have the ability to discern and identify the right information so that your riches can me made manifest in the physical.

Remember the story of the widow in the Bible? She had A JAR OF OIL but she never knew that what she’s got is more than enough for her to get out of her poor state, but she had the right mind. Elijah came with the good information and when Elijah asked her,” what do you have?” she answered “I have nothing” but then she remembered and rephrased her answer “I have nothing but A JAR OF OIL”. There and then, Elijah asked her to get all the drums, barrels and pots she could gather from anywhere and anyhow she could get it and bring it to the her house. Once that was done, the pouring began and every vessel she was able to gather was filled to the brim with oil from the little jar she had.

She received this riches and blessing not because she was the smartest woman in that city, or the most intelligent, if she were that clever she wouldn’t be left with just a jar of oil, but because she had the right mind and believed, she was able to identify the good news when she heard it, and she tapped into it, acted upon it and her poverty was cured forever.

You and I can also be cured off our poverty forever only if we can begin now to have a positive heart and a right mind that is carved towards success. Put your ears to the ground for the Good news and create the mind and an enabling environment so that you will be able to discern and act fast and effectively when it comes.

Cure to Poverty

“The poor you will always have with you” - Matt 26:11, Mark 14:7

Everytime I hear about poverty eradication, I just marvel, poverty will never be eradicated! It can be reduced, but total annihilation is a pie in the sky.

Poverty is so bothersome, I’ve had a bite of it, and it’s certainly not desirable. We all have a general idea of the symptoms of poverty, but I believe a general picture of poverty is not having ones needs met, not wants, needs. Poverty is like a disease, only it makes you susceptible to many diseases. Poverty is like AIDS, it weakens your ability to respond to many of the challenges that life throws. Poverty itself might not kill, but the result of being poor can be devastating.

In my search about 10yrs ago, I stumbled on the cure for poverty, and just recently I came to understand the cause of poverty. It is my sincere desire, that someone will read this short piece, and drag him/herself out of the dredges
The root cause of being poor, is an acronym thats derived from the word poor itself. POOR - Passing Over Opportunities Repeatedly. A man is poor not because of his background, not because of a deformity, not because of where he lives, grew up or his family. A man or woman is poor because he or she passes over opportunities repeatedly.

Opportunities come to us all, we all get chances, what however r determines whether our opportunity will cascade into a defining moment for us, is whether we utilize them or not. A poor man does not see opportunities when they come, or he sees them, but does not count them as such. Have you ever tried hard to convince a dear friend about a good idea that you believe would be useful to him, and he couldn’t just see it? Have you ever tried to talk to a colleague about an opportunity you stumbled on and rather than seeing the opportunity he/she immediately sees a problem? The ultimately poor man or woman, is the one that has gone through life passing over opportunities repeatedly. A few opportunities passed do not make a man poor, but when the habit is formed, he is stuck, and cannot even see a way out.

There were many young men in the same bus that the owner of ABC transport boarded, that inspired him to start a better one. While most people complained about the problem, he saw an opportunity to do things better. There were many whiz kids in the year that Bill Gates brokered a deal on Dos, it’s not about strength, wisdom, skill or speed. It’s the ability to spot the chance at the time it comes, it’s the ability to see and not pass over opportunities repeatedly.

If this is the cause of poverty, what then is it’s cure? I used to think that the cure to poverty was to share the money equally. But I discovered that a poor man is not poor because he doesn’t have money. Poverty is first in the mind. If we share all the money in the world, everybody will revert to where he deserves to be in a maximum of 3 months. Is it to supply the poor with daily stipends, I figured then they will forever be poor. Our governments does a lot to erradicate or placate the effects of poverty, can poverty be eradicated or reduced? How?
I found the how in a profound statement made in the holy creed.

Is 61: 1 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,

The cure to brokenness is binding, the cure to captivity is freedom, the cure to imprisonment is release, and the cure to poverty is good news. Doesn’t that sound funny? That the solution to poverty is good information? If that sounds strange to you, go on a fact finding mission, and you will discover that it is information that differentiates the rich and the poor. A rich man buys a share at N3:00 because he knows that it will rise, a poor man buys it at N50 because that’s when he hears that the price has been rising. A poorer man doesn’t even get involved, and says when it becomes N100 - “And I knew when it was N3 oh, if only I had bought”.

The cure to poverty is good news. Not bad news, good news. It’s information, good information. To migrate from poverty to wealth. Feed on good information, know who you can be, see the opportunities around you, know that nothing is impossible to one that believes, and know that whatever you want to do is achievable. Know that you are just one decision away from your next breakthrough. Know that you can be all you dream to be. Feed on good information, and watch yourself gradually transform.

Value for Life

I once read a story about a man that was invited to a conference to deliver a speech, on getting to the stage, he brought out a 500Naira bill from his pocket and asked the audience if they want the money, of course they all indicated that they want it,even the rich and classy people seated at the conference all wanted it, but instead of calling out someone and giving it out, he dropped the money on the floor squeezed it hard and he stepped on it with is shoes tried making it as horrible as possible and he picked it up and asked if they still want it. Despite the horrible condition of the money, they still raised up there hands indicating they want it. Then he made a statement that despite the fact that what he was holding was a piece of paper but for the fact that 500naira as been printed on it, they all wanted to have it, even when he tried De-valuing the paper by getting it roughened and dirty, they still wanted to have it because the dirt as not reduced the value of the 500Naira bill. He now opined that if each and everyone that was present could give themselves such nontarnishable value, the world would be a better place and Nigeria a better country than what it is Today!

After reading it, i sat down and took a good look at myself, i gave it a deep thought, took a look at my personality, i found out that the 500Naira got the recognition it got not because it was 500Naira, but rather because it was money. The most important lesson i learnt from this was SELF, who I am.
Who you are determines what you get, what your portray to the outside world determines what you get from it.

Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumbled, and grounded into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, we should never lose our value. Dirty or clean, crumbled or finely greased , we are still priceless to those who we DO LOVE. The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know, but by WHO WE ARE. You are special - Don't EVER forget it." Especially you,you so special, so unique and Beautiful. You may never know the lives you touch, the hurting hearts that the things you do speaks to, or the hope that the things you do or say can bring. Give yourself that value that will be incorruptible, unchangeable and just sit back relaxz and take a look at the lives you affect the impact and the changes you will make to the world around you without even saying a word.

Lessons From The Prison Break

The prison break film is a story of how a successful civil engineer- Michael, deliberately sets himself up to go to jail in order to set his innocent brother who is on death roll free. It is a film that unveils intense preparation, planning, the calculated risk taking, relationship management, sacrifice, negotiating e.t.c. In this film Michael tattoos himself with a cleverly concealed plan of the prison and contingency plans in the case of possible foul ups.

1. Fear is monster made up of invisible molecules. It’s strong and alive for as long as it remains unconfronted!

“There was a scene in which the nurse asks the lead actor Michael if he had no fears about his being in prison. This was after two of his toes had been chopped off by one of the other inmates. He responds by sharing the story of what happened in his childhood, how he found it difficult to sleep at night because he thought that there was a monster in the cupboard. Back then, his brother told him that fear is made up of invisible molecules, that when you ventured to open the cupboard, the monster will disappear. From then he had learnt to confront his monsters - even when behind each door were 1000 other doors”

Fear unconfronted grows. There is nothing to fear. What are you fears? Another human being? No matter how big, rich or fierce the human being is, he/she is still human. When he/she wants to take a shower, he/she must take off his/her clothes. There is nothing to fear in any mortal? Are you afraid of tomorrow? Open the closet, there is nothing there. I remember a day I wanted to hire a taxi at a taxi park. The clowns there were charging exceptionally high, I told them it was much cheaper off the streets but the guy in charge started a story about the safety of picking up their taxi and the risk involved in just a taxi off the street. I looked him in the eye and told him to scrap that line, I asked him to look at me carefully and be sure that it doesn’t matter where I picked the taxi from, it’s risky to carry me, I am the one to fear, any driver should be more concerned about his own safety than mine… he laughed heartily and agreed to carry me at my price Why should you be the one that is afraid rather than the one that is feared? Fear is the greatest inhibitor of the human race. What are you waiting for?

2. Things are not always as they seem.

“This was a phrase used when Michael scorned his elder brother just before he was convicted, that what had he done with is life. According to him, their mother had left them some money from her life insurance, he had used his to go to school and better his life, while his brother-Lincoln had spent his recklessly and had neither an education nor a life. Lincoln responded by saying “things are not always as they seem”. It turned out, that their mother had left no life insurance. What had actually happened was that Lincoln had borrowed $90,000 for his brother to go through the best of schools, he knew that if he had told him, he would not have accepted it, so he had framed it as their mum’s life insurance.”

The human mind has a habit of jumping into conclusions and making assumptions. Don’t make assumptions about peoples guilt until it is proven, things are not always as they appear. Never judge a book by it’s cover, don’t only look, observe and behold. Be slow to jump into conclusions and quick to forgive. A closer look will reveal more, things are not always as they seem.

3. Impossible is nothing!

“When Lincoln and his bother saw for the first time in the prison, Michael told him, “I’m gonna get you out of here, the brother responded and said, “That’s impossible”! Michael went on to tell him that it was not impossible if you were responsible for designing the prison. He had not only seen the master plan, he had it tattooed on his body and had spent quality time understanding both that map and everyone in the prison that was going to be critical to the prison break. Things are only impossible for as long as we do not allow our minds to stretch to accommodate possibilities.”

To a person whose mind is set on the end, who confidently moves in the direction of his/her dreams. Nothing is impossible! Where there is a will, there is always a way. The world was not created with a road network, men built roads. There was and is still no master plan for the development of roads, man simply made a way to wherever he wanted to go. There is no such thing as there is no way, there is just no way yet. Create one!

4. Sooner or later, everybody has a need!

“It was interesting to see how the team that will carry out the prison break was formed. These were people who would not work together by any means. But each forged together by their individual and selfish needs became an exceptional team. One wanted to see his girlfriend desperately, another’s children were about to be killed, one’s daughter had cancer, another’s family didn’t even know he was in jail, one stumbled on the opportunity e.t.c.”

You can get anybody enrolled on your team if you understand their needs, and make the goal relevant to them. Sooner or later everybody has a need. People are not sympathetic to corporate visions that have nothing in it for them. Like our popular phrase where I once worked - “What binds us together is our mutual quest for success.”

5. The leader is the one who has thought about it longest.

“You’ll wonder how Michael would be the leader of this prison break team. He looks most fragile, he’s not the strongest, not the wildest, not the hardest, but he is incontestably the leader of the pack. He calls the shots and everyone else asks him for the next step. He put the team together, and more often than not, his say his final. If he says let’s jump, the group has more confident in it than the ravings of any of the team members. Why? Because he had demonstrated clearly that he had been thinking about this exercise and has it all figured out.”

The role of a leader is clear, and every one of the 5 E’s that characterize a leader where clearly displayed. He Envisioned the future, spent quality time meditating on it. He Energized his team, he connected with a selfish need in every one. He Enabled his team, he gave them access to all the tools they needed to achieve the vision. He Engaged the team, he formed relationships with each one of them at a level that ensured that the work would be done. He modeled executional excellence, he didn’t give orders, he did what had to be done.

6. Every experience is useful!

“Michael had a bad accident and wound, in which a critical part of the map on his back was erased. He tried hard to remember the content of that portion but was unsuccessful. He quickly remembered a lunatic that had been transfered to his cell for a few weeks, who had been able to draw the entire map in an attempt to decipher if it was a partway to hell. Back then he tried desperately to get the guy out of his room, but all of a sudden, he became valuable. His ability to remember the missing piece became critical to the prison break”

Have you ever had an experience that you desperately tried to get out of? Has it ever come back to be useful to you? Every experience is valuable, everything counts, all things work together for good. Not for everybody, but for everyone whose eyes are set on a purpose, for those who have a higher meaning to their existence. For those who live for a course, who are on a mission. Every experience is useful.

7. When you come to the end of your plan, keep running

“I Finished the film eventually, but I’ll leave out the juicy details for those who want to watch it. When all the plans finished, the next action was run! Just make a run for it!”

I remember an article I posted about 6 months ago titled “Aiduro Nijo” - The dance is in not stopping! As soon as you keep moving then you are dancing, dancing stops when movement stops. The reason why you don’t know the people you don’t know is because they stopped doing whatever it was that was going to get them to their goals. I hear that a fanatic is someone who doubles speed when direction is lost, haven’t you also heard that only the paranoid survive?

Life is funny, I once read an analysis that back in the days of the early men, there were two types of people, the impulsive and the analytical. The impulsive man hears a rumble in the forest and runs, the analytical man hears the rumble and tries to find out if it is a squirrel or a lion. The analytical man gets eaten if it is a lion, and gradually the analytical man dies, while the earth is filled with impulsive men. Now the impulsive man needs to analyze deliberately, but run impulsively. Whatever you have set your hands on, run with it! Many people quit their dreams because of temporary set backs and go back to their vomit, they stopped to analyze and went back to status quo. When you reach the end of the plan, keep running, it gives you the opportunity of featuring in season 2!

Hope I haven’t bored ?
